Summer Concert Extravaganza: Keziah Jones and Vanille Rock the Place de la Martinique

Keziah Jones and Vanille performed on the Place de la Martinique on Monday August 7 as part of the major free concerts that punctuate the summer season. It was already the 3rd big concert of the summer at Barcarès, and for this new event, the show was organized at Coudalère, whose atypical setting lends itself pleasantly to musical atmospheres.

And the show was indeed there! To start the evening, the singer Vanille (daughter of Julien Clerc) opened the festivities, going on stage, guitar slung over her shoulder, smiling, to present her unique universe to the public sensitive to her tone of voice and her style.

Then, it was in front of a compact crowd that largely overflowed the square that Keziah Jones entered the stage. Supported by a bass-drum duo highlighting his technique, the singer-guitarist paraded his dandy silhouette under the spotlight.

Between hits and protest songs, the 50-year-old shared his energy with the public. He revisited his prolific production through a few key titles from his albums (Million miles from home, Beautiful Emilie, Rhythm is love). More animal than ever, swaying on stage in a feline way, he finished exciting his audience with Pass the joint. It was almost midnight when the concert ended in a molten atmosphere!

Suffice to say that the spectators present felt privileged, under the benevolent gaze of the Canigou…

The next meeting will be on Friday August 18 at 9 p.m. in the Lydia Gardens, with Amel Bent!
