Israeli Prime Minister Criticizes US for Releasing Frozen Iranian Funds

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu strongly criticized the United States for agreeing to release Iranian funds frozen in South Korea and elsewhere.

Israel’s Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement on the night of the 12th local time, “Agreement without dismantling of nuclear infrastructure will not stop Iran’s nuclear program and will only provide money to Iran-sponsored terrorist groups.”

Earlier, the Iranian state-run IRNA news agency reported that Iranian funds frozen in Korea were transferred to a Swiss bank following the conclusion of negotiations between the United States and Iran.

It is known that about 7 billion dollars, or about 9.2 trillion won, of money was frozen in Iranian central bank accounts at Woori Bank and IBK Industrial Bank in Korea.

The money has already been transferred to a Swiss bank and converted into euros, and is expected to be sent to Qatar, which mediated negotiations between the United States and Iran.
