Mohamed Salah entered the opening round of the Premier League for football in order to achieve a new achievement, but his hopes ended at the hands of the video assistant referee and coach Jurgen Klopp today, Sunday.
Salah needed one goal to maintain his scoring record in the first round for the seventh consecutive season, to raise his tally to nine goals and become the most scored player in the opening round of the Premier League.
The captain of the Egyptian national team started the match perfectly, as he set up Liverpool’s goal for teammate Luis Diaz with an amazing pass in the 18th minute.
Salah scored in the 29th minute, but the video assistant referee ruled out the goal for offside.
And with Chelsea equalizing through Axel Desassi in the first half, Salah’s presence was crucial for Liverpool to start the season with a victory.
But German coach Klopp surprised everyone by removing Salah a quarter of an hour before the end.
Anger appeared on Salah during his exit and he went directly to the bench without shaking hands with his coach.
