He is the unexpected guest of the summer: the Covid-19 is making a comeback in France. Its incidence increased by 24.6% in one week, according to the latest situation update from Public Health France published on Friday.
The incidence rate of the virus is increasing among all age groups, but is more marked among people in their forties (+38.8%). The most affected regions are New Aquitaine (789 positive cases between July 31 and August 6), Occitanie (730), Île-de-France (689), Provence-Alpes-Côte d’ Azur (638) and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes (541).
Less reimbursed tests
In the event of a headache, sore throat, cough or fever, it is therefore better to carry out a screening test for Covid-19. As before, no prior medical prescription is necessary to perform this test.
However, since March 1, 2023, Covid-19 screening tests are no longer fully covered by Health Insurance. A co-payment (to be paid) applies to insured persons, vaccinated or not vaccinated. Its amount varies according to the health professional issuing the test: it is 30% for doctors, pharmacists, dental surgeons, midwives and 40% for nurses and massage therapists. “In the vast majority of cases, the moderating ticket is fully reimbursed by mutual or complementary health insurance. It is also also 100% covered for beneficiaries of complementary health insurance, “says however the Health Insurance.
100% coverage of screening tests remains maintained for people recognized as having a long-term condition, people aged 65 and over or under 18, health professionals, immunocompromised people and people making the object of collective screening.
No more mandatory isolation
People who test positive are no longer required to self-isolate. The Ministry of Health nevertheless recommends that sick people do so and apply barrier gestures, and above all to avoid contact with fragile people. “It is important to warn your family, those around you and all the people you meet within 48 hours before the appearance of symptoms of Covid-19 or within seven days before the absence of symptoms”, insists Health Insurance.
Contact cases will not be contacted by Health Insurance and do not have the obligation to test themselves within the following two days, as was the case until the beginning of 2023. The TousAntiCovid application is moreover on hiatus since June 30.
Another change, since February 1, the derogatory compensation scheme for work stoppages created in the context of the health crisis linked to Covid-19 no longer exists. If you need a sick leave, you must therefore go to see your doctor and the waiting period will apply.
