The editors of PrahaIN.cz were contacted by reader Tereza, who went with her family to the shopping center in Černý Most at the weekend. At first, an innocent visit, when the parents had to claim some goods and the children went to the well-known toy store Bambule, ended in verbal abuse and the police were called.
After a short shopping trip and lunch, the family split up, according to our reader. Since the children, aged 10 and 14, left for Bambule by themselves, not even ten minutes passed and the father’s mobile phone started ringing.
“Dad, come quickly, the saleswoman in the toy store attacked me,” the older son was supposed to say on the phone.
The parents, who returned to the store within minutes, found the two children outside the store. A strange lady with a pram was also with them. According to the story of the older son, the boys wanted to buy a model of a toy car that they wanted, and while they were rummaging through the shelves, a saleswoman who was standing nearby ran up and verbally attacked them.
“You demented people, you scumbags, you ill-mannered people, haven’t they taught you good manners? What are you doing with it, you idiot? Don’t you know they don’t throw things around?” the saleswoman allegedly yelled at the boy.

Detectives from the fourth police district clarified two robberies, a theft and one case of assault and extortion since the beginning of May. All these crimes…
It is said that the older son did not allow himself to be derailed and asked the saleswoman for her name and to call the store manager. However, she refused to talk to them, saying that she does not share personal information.
The boys left the store, the older one, according to his mother, turned around to take a picture of the saleswoman and the store. But he didn’t succeed.
The assault continued
The saleswoman was supposed to run out of the store, grab the boy by the shirt and verbally attack them again. “What are you doing, you demented idiots, you idiots, you scumbags, you ill-mannered people,” describes the mother.
And it continues. “The son repeatedly asked her to let him go, to which she did not respond, continued the physical insult and threatened to call security or the police. Passing visitors of the shopping center already started to turn around and take pictures of the scene, but they continued to walk on, except for one customer who stood up for the boy and asked the angry saleswoman what she was doing and warned her that she was going to film it. After that, the saleswoman ran back into the store,” adds the mother of the two boys.
The angry father therefore immediately called the police. The patrol arrived very quickly, heard both sides and the witness, and left with the understanding that they would deal with this incident further. Bambule’s management was said to have been informed immediately.
“We can confirm that Prague police officers went to a shopping center in Prague 9 on Sunday for a reported assault on a boy. Investigating this case, the police found out that there was a verbal conflict between the persons and no one was injured on the spot. The police officers reported the case to the competent administrative authority – ÚMČ P9, who will decide on the matter on suspicion of committing an offense against civil coexistence,” confirmed Prague police spokeswoman Violeta Siřišťová for our editorial office.
However, according to the Bambule store, it was not a little boy, but an allegedly 17-year-old youth. However, according to our information, after the identification of the parents, the police recorded that it was indeed a 14-year-old boy, albeit a taller one.
“We know about the incident. In our store, there was inappropriate customer behavior towards our store staff. Among other things, he illegally filmed and photographed store staff. This was a 17-year-old, not a little boy. Even though the person in question is already criminally responsible, our company is trying to solve the whole matter amicably,” Jana Krčková from Wormelen group, which includes the toy chain, told PrahaIN.cz.
After the article was published, we were contacted by two other readers who had a similar experience from the same store. One of them was more specific.
“We have a similar experience with the saleswoman in this particular store. I was there with my five-year-old daughter to choose toys, which of course she looked at and didn’t use or damage in any way, just looked visually and took in her hands. An employee of smaller stature, with longer brown hair, was constantly following her. She had completely irrelevant comments and inappropriate behavior, mainly of the saleswoman who moves among the children in the toy store, she threw glances at the little girl as if she wanted to slowly hurt her, told her not to interfere, that she was ill-mannered, to leave it alone and then spoke and various foul words, after which I objected and we dropped the store,” the reader wrote.
