Swiss Diplomat Livia Leu Appointed Ambassador to Berlin

In his office in the west wing of the Federal Palace, a huge globe takes up almost an entire section of the wall. A diplomat since 1989, Livia Leu will occupy the last position of her career from November 1, after having been number 2 in the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA): ambassador in Berlin. Resigning Secretary of State – she will be replaced on September 1 by Alexandre Fasel –, she was notably chief negotiator in the tumultuous Swiss-EU dossier.
