The co-chairman of “Continuing the Change” Kiril Petkov came to Plovdiv to meet with his coalition partners from “Democratic Bulgaria”. The former prime minister was spotted entering a restaurant with Manol Peykov, municipal councilor Veselina Alexandrova and other representatives of the formation from Plovdiv. They were spotted in an establishment opposite Novotel.
The purpose of the meeting was the local vote, as well as the general appearance of the two formations in Plovdiv. Although in Sofia they managed to unite around the candidacy of Vasil Terziev, in Burgas it seems that PP and DB will appear independently.
The two parties are working for a common list and a candidate for mayor of the city. One of the names mentioned for the mayoral candidate is Manol Peykov. Despite the information that he refused to participate in the local vote in order to become an MEP in next year’s elections, there is still a chance that he will still be the PP-DB candidate.
The former deputy and director of the Ministry of Transport, Prof. Ivaylo Staribratov, currently has the best chance of being elected mayor by the union, reports trafficnews.bg. The former regional governor Yordan Ivanov is also not completely rejected as an option.
It is almost certain that the candidate in Plovdiv will be from “Democratic Bulgaria”, and from “Produlzvame Promyanata” they have two conditions for their election as mayor of the city – to be an indisputable person who can unite as wide a range of people as possible.
Both parties are still silent about their vote in Plovdiv.
