the essentials Laurent George, director of the Deux-Rives hospital centre, gives an update on the request for labeling of the establishment as a local hospital.
The labeling of the Deux-Rives hospital center as a local hospital is on the right track. During his visit to Valence on April 19, the director general of ARS Occitanie Didier Jaffre supported this project, to the great satisfaction of the chairman of the supervisory board Jean-Michel Baylet and Dr Daniel Zanin, deputy mayor in charge of health and social affairs. That same day, the boss of the ARS had recorded the creation in Valence of a radiology center with scanner and MRI. “The installation of a radiology center was one of the conditions for obtaining this label”, recalls Dr. Zanin.
With a laboratory (that of Synlab with which the hospital has signed an agreement), a nearby emergency service open 24 hours a day (that of the Agen University Hospital) and sufficient medical time, the Deux-Rives hospital has given itself the means to fulfill its ambitions.
An ambition symbolized by the recruitment, since July 1, of Dr Nadia Bannour: this geriatrician doctor trained in palliative care, who arrives from Moissac hospital, works part-time (80%) in the follow-up care and rehabilitation (SSR). “With the presence of Dr Anne Barres, 60% at the SSR, and that of Dr Emmanuelle Retault full-time at the USLD (long-term care unit), we have comfortable medical time for our care”, emphasizes Daniel Zanin. This label will allow the CH des Deux-Rives to open medical beds: in fact, this involves the reassignment of 2 beds among the 30 in the SSR.
It now remains for the director of the Laurent George establishment to finalize this labeling application file and to send it, in September, to the Regional Health Agency, after a final validation by the establishment’s medical commission.
The objective is clear for the Deux-Rives establishment: “To offer a more structured care offer and more fluid care pathways for patients, in synergy with the professionals of multidisciplinary health centers such as that of Valence and the center municipal health center of Golfech, the health center of Lamagistère and the offices of the liberal doctors present in the CC2R living area”.
Laurent George specifies that “the interaction between city medicine, the medico-social and social sector is the very basis of the activity of a local hospital because private general practitioners direct their patients to the local hospital and intervene there to monitor their patients and prepare for their discharge if necessary”.
With this label, the Deux-Rives hospital will become “the central hub for the organization of care management, the pivotal hospital on this territory in addition to the hospitals of Montauban and that of Moissac” , emphasizes Dr. Zanin.
This new mode of operation will allow the establishment to develop other activities with additional funding such as, soon, a day hospital in SMR for the rehabilitation and rehabilitation of patients requiring daily sessions during the week for both physiotherapists and occupational therapists. or psychomotor therapists.
