Cascades announced the complete closure of its plant in St. Helens, Oregon, United States, resulting in the complete closure of the site. The end of operations will be effective at the beginning of October.
The company said it will work “closely with the 75 affected employees to mitigate the impact of this announcement.”
She added “that she will try to relocate employees who wish to do so to her other business units in the United States. Those who cannot or do not want to be reassigned to other factories will be supported in their job search”.
The mill will close due to a major repositioning of its tissue paper production platform which included the closure of one of the two paper machines at the St. Helens mill.
