Find a suitable job in your home country while visiting the Old Town Festival? The “Welcome home” skilled labor exchange on August 26th in the Görlitz town hall makes it possible. Home visitors, returnees but also all other guests of the Görlitz Old Town Festival can find out about regional job offers and exchange ideas with company representatives.

As reported by the Görlitz business development agency, over 20 regional companies from various sectors will be available for questions and personal discussions on this day. The German Center for Astrophysics (DZA) and the Hi!Lusatia association, which represents the scientific institutions in Görlitz, will also present themselves at the job exchange.
The skilled labor exchange is organized by the business development agency of the Europastadt Görlitz-Zgorzelec GmbH (EGZ). “We deliberately place the job exchange during the time of the old town festival, when numerous visitors, many of them potential returnees, come to the city,” explains EGZ Managing Director Eva Wittig and adds: “It is an ideal form for companies and job seekers for a first meeting.”
According to the EGZ, the shortage of skilled workers is one of the greatest challenges for the business location Görlitz. There is now a shortage of qualified specialists in almost all areas and professions. One of the causes is the retirement of the baby boomer generation from working life. To secure the need for skilled workers, Europastadt Görlitz-Zgorzelec GmbH promotes the location nationwide and specifically addresses international skilled workers in large cities who are interested in change. The message of the “Job with a view” campaign deliberately draws attention to the many advantages of the working and living environment in the European city.
A notice: The skilled labor exchange will take place on August 26th, 12-4 p.m., in the large meeting room in the town hall (entrance via the historic town hall staircase).
