Sony Playstation revealed this week that the Playstation Talents are back and that applications for the 9th Edition of these awards are now open.
It’s already in the 9th Edition. The Playstation Talents are back in what is a recurring event that has become a regular reality every year.
These awards that have been encouraging, promoting and helping the development of videogames in Portugal (and beyond, of course) over a decade, providing various support and incentives to many indie teams with few skills and conditions to create and distribute their games.
The 9th Edition starts soon, with registration now open for those who want to register their Projects, which can be submitted until 23:59 on the 10th of September.
The best proposals will be revealed during the month of October. The overall winner of the 2023 PlayStation Talents Award for Best Game, as well as the winners of the other categories, will be announced later this year.
It should be noted that the winning project of the PlayStation Talents 2023 Award for the Best Game will receive economic support for the development and publication of the game by PlayStation Iberia through:
€10,000 in cash for the development of the video game; Support in publishing the game on PlayStation Network and multiplatforms; Access to PlayStation development tools; A promotion and marketing campaign on PlayStation channels valued at €50,000;
It should be noted that the PlayStation Talents Awards started in Portugal in 2015 and, since then, more than 400 projects have participated.

PlayStation Talents Special Games for Good Award: The PlayStation Talents Special Games for Good Award, awarded in partnership with the event created and organized by IADE, is aimed at the finalist game that best incorporates social responsibility themes into its concept, and that contributes to an open dialogue about real problems in our society and our world;
Applications must be sent to the e-mail address premiosplaystation@premiosplaystation.com by 11:59 pm on the 10th of September and must include:
A playable/vertical slice build; A game presentation video, with a maximum duration of 5 minutes; The Concept Design document (in PDF format, with no page limit); CVs of team members;
