BMW is presenting the Connected Ride Smartglasses this weekend at the “BMW Days” in Berlin. The motorcycle goggles, which are worn under the helmet, serve as a head-up display and project, for example, the navigation data, speed or the gear selected directly into the field of vision of the right lens. The small projector sits at the top left edge of the frame. The smart glasses can be paired with the smartphone via Bluetooth and an app. The positioning of the projection and the selection of the settings can also be made while riding using the multi-controller on the handlebars. The rechargeable battery enables an operating time of up to ten hours.

BMW is presenting the Connected Ride Smartglasses this weekend at the “BMW Days” in Berlin. The motorcycle goggles, which are worn under the helmet, serve as a head-up display and project, for example, the navigation data, speed or the gear selected directly into the field of vision in the upper left area of the right lens. The smart glasses can be paired with the smartphone via Bluetooth and an app. The positioning of the projection and the selection of the settings can also be made while riding using the multi-controller on the handlebars. The rechargeable battery enables an operating time of up to ten hours.

In addition, BMW Motorrad supplies two sets of certified UVA/UVB lenses with the frame. One set of lenses is 85 percent transparent and can be used for helmets with an integrated sun visor. The other has tinted lenses and can therefore be used directly as sunglasses. In addition, two standard sizes with different nose pads are available.

There is an RX adapter (+/- 4.5 dioptres) for people who wear glasses. This can be ordered directly online. The corresponding QR code can be found in the operating instructions for the Connected Ride Smartglasses. The head-up display glasses cost 690 euros and will be available from August. (awm)
