BANJARMASIN (TABIRkota) – The Indonesian Cancer Foundation Banjarmasin Branch, South Kalimantan (Kalsel) together with Biofarma introduced the HPV DNA Urine Sample method as an easier and more convenient early detection of cervical cancer.
The introduction of this method was carried out by YKI Banjarmasin together with Biofarma in the Socialization of Early Detection of Cervical Cancer with the Urine Sample DNA HPV Method and the Importance of HPV Immunization at Galaxy Hotel Banjarmasin, Thursday (10/8).
Met after the activity, the Mayor of Banjarmasin, H Ibnu Sina said, with an easier and less complicated test method, it would certainly attract more women to carry out early detection of cervical cancer.
“The method is simpler, it only uses urine, it’s the same as blood sugar and cholesterol tests,” he said.
Previously, early detection of cervical cancer was carried out using the IVA test method, which is a visual check of the eyes.
According to him, the IVA test method, which requires a visual check of the eyes, might make many women embarrassed so they are reluctant to do early detection of cervical cancer.
“With the convenience offered by the HPV DNA method, it is hoped that many women in Banjarmasin in particular will want to be examined for early detection of cervical cancer,” he said.
Meanwhile, Head of Biofarma’s Marketing Department, Dimas Dwi Aditya said, after the socialization activity, it is hoped that both private and government health facilities in Banjarmasin can provide early detection of cervical cancer.
“The results of early detection of cervical cancer using the HPV DNA method can be seen within 1×24 hours after the examination,” he said.
As for the initial requirements, it remains the same as cervical cancer examination using the IVA test method so that the results are maximized. (ra)
