Republicans in the lower house of the US Congress published a report on the foreign business transactions of Hunter Biden, the son of the current US President Joe Biden. His companies reportedly received more than $20 million from oligarchs from Russia, Kazakhstan and Ukraine. Joe Biden was vice president at the time, and he met his son’s business partners at dinners.

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer posted on Wednesday the third report on the foreign business transactions of the family of US President Joe Biden. The first two reports have already linked members of the Biden family to payments related to entities in China and Romania.
The third report contains bank records that prove Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden, along with his business associates, received millions in payments from Russian, Ukrainian, and Kazakh oligarchs while Joe Biden was vice president.
“When Joe Biden was vice president, Hunter Biden sold him as a ‘brand’ to raise millions from oligarchs in Kazakhstan, Russia and Ukraine,” Comer said at a press conference Wednesday to release the report.
“Individuals from Russia, Kazakhstan and Ukraine sent money to Hunter Biden and Devon Archer through Rosemont Seneca bank accounts,” said the 19-page report, which details incoming payments to the bank accounts of three firms founded by Hunter Biden: Rosemont Seneca Partners, Rosemont Seneca Thornton and Rosemont Seneca Bohai.
Millions of payments were supposed to come from the Ukrainian energy company Burisma Holdings, from Russian businesswoman Yelena Baturin and from Kazakh oligarch Kenesh Rakishev.

“To date, the committee has identified more than $20 million in foreign sources that benefited the Biden family and their business associates,” the report concluded. From Russian businesswoman Yelena Baturinová, the committee found $3.5 million for Rosemont Seneca Thornton, a company founded by Hunter Biden on February 14, 2014. Rakishev then transferred $142,300 to the bank account of Hunter’s company Rosemont Seneca Bohai on April 22, 2014, according to the report.
The report also proves that Joe Biden met several times with representatives of Burisma Holdings, Baturinová and Rakishev. “Then-Vice President Biden met with these individuals or their representatives — in person and for a considerable amount of time. Then-Vice President Biden joined approximately 20 phone calls with Hunter Biden’s foreign business associates and attended dinners with foreign oligarchs who paid Hunter Biden huge sums of money,” the report said.
In the spring of 2014, Joe Biden was scheduled to attend a dinner with Baturin, Hunter and other company representatives at the Café Milano restaurant in Washington. Former Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Mssimov, who was sentenced to 18 years in prison this year for attempting a coup d’état, was also supposed to attend the dinner, the news company reported Fox News. According to Devon Archer, oligarch Rikeš was also at the dinner.
“Other than access to Biden’s network of contacts, including Biden himself, it appears that no real services were provided in exchange for the money,” Comer further said at the press conference. “This is clearly demonstrated by the meetings at Café Milano, where then-Vice President Joe Biden dined with oligarchs from around the world who were sending money to his son.”
