The Charlevoisien has learned that a major apartment building project is under development in Baie-Saint-Paul.
According to our information, buildings housing 48 units are planned. We are not talking about a cooperative or HLM formula. “It’s about affordable housing,” says a source familiar with the project, repeating that the goal is precisely “to increase the supply”.
The project would be carried out in partnership with the Société d’habitation du Québec. A non-profit organization has even been formed to take care of it. You have to wait to know the cost of rent.
The mayor of Baie-Saint-Paul, Michaël Pilote, confirms that “discussions are underway” without saying more.
Announcements could be made next month. The hypothesis of seeing work in the spring of 2024 is not excluded.
