The electric vehicle Hyundai Ioniq 6 showed the best result in ADAC Ecotest tests.
The Korean mid-range model achieved the lowest consumption of an electric car so far in the ADAC Ecotest tests, showing a real consumption of 15.5 kilowatt hours per 100 kilometers. The excellent drag coefficient, which is only 0.21, is of great importance in this regard. In the consumption/CO2 rating, the Ioniq 6 received 58 out of a possible 60 points, while in the harmful emissions rating, 49 out of 50 points were obtained, taking into account the German electricity mix.
In test mode, ADAC was able to charge the battery for a journey of more than 400 kilometers in 20 minutes, thanks to the Ioniq 6’s charging power of up to 236 kW. A model with rear-wheel drive and a 77.4 kWh battery took part in the tests, with a range of 555 kilometers according to the auto club’s calculations.
It is interesting that the Ioniq 5, endowed with a less aerodynamic body, but equipped with the same battery, consumes 18.2 kWh, providing a range of 470 km.
In the ADAC Ecotest tests, the Ioniq 6 overtook another Hyundai model, the smaller Kona Electro, which is expected to be replaced in 2023 with a newer and, hopefully, even more economical model. In the top three is also the Tesla Model 3, which ADAC gave a positive assessment, calling it “a model in the field of energy”.
Let us add that the Hyundai Ioniq 6 is also one of the contenders for this year’s Latvian Car of the Year, which can be seen and tested on August 26.
