In execution of the eviction order issued on December 9, 2022 by the Judicial Court of Bordeaux for the land occupied, and at the request of Bordeaux Métropole, owner of the site, the assistance of the public force was granted by Étienne GUYOT, prefect of the Gironde. The security forces thus proceeded this morning to the evacuation of 31 people of Bulgarian nationality, including 15 minors.
In addition to the illegality of this occupation, the living conditions of the occupants, the accumulation of waste and the presence of various salvaged objects (wrecked cars, household appliances, etc.) presented significant risks for sanitation and public health.
The evacuation operation went smoothly. In accordance with the regulations in force, the occupants of this squat were the subject of a preliminary social diagnosis by the departmental direction of employment, work and solidarity (DDETS) after several passages on the site to meet the occupants. It emerged that, out of all the people diagnosed in this squat, no family met the eligibility criteria (asserted desire for integration, having a life project in France, certificate of domiciliation, schooling of children, etc.) in order to benefit from social support.
The DDETS and the Town Hall of Blanquefort were present on site at the time of the evacuation in order to ensure the care (via hotel nights) of the most vulnerable families who did not meet the eligibility criteria. of accompaniment.
The premises, freed from this illicit occupation, were returned to Bordeaux Métropole at the end of the morning. Securing work, necessary to prevent any further intrusion, was able to begin after the evacuation.
