MrBeast Faces $100 Million Lawsuit Over His Burger Business

Is he grilled by his own burger?

„MrBeast“ (25) is the most successful YouTuber in the world: 174 million subscribers follow the entertainer, which is the most for a single person on the video platform. For comparison: In Germany, mega YouTuber Pamela Reif (27) “only” has almost ten million followers.

Now his success is in danger: Jimmy Donaldson, his real name, is being sued for 100 million US dollars. His estimated 2021 earnings were $54 million.

According to a report by “Variety”, the company “Virtual Dining Concepts” is behind the lawsuit, which accuses the US influencer and his company “Beast Investments” of breach of contract and “tort intentional action”. It’s about Donaldson’s burger brand “MrBeast Burger”, which was founded three years ago.

Behind it is a supply chain that delivers selected fast-food menus to homes or to collection points in the USA, but also in Ireland and Sweden. For example, the “Hot Chicken Tender Sandwich” for just under nine dollars.

A big source of income for “MrBeast”, because the burgers and fries are marketed under his name. However, behind the restaurant distribution is the company that is now suing him in New York. “Virtual Dining Company” operates the catering establishments for Donaldson as so-called ghost restaurants.

“MrBeast” doesn’t like his own burger anymore

It’s already the second chapter in burger beef: Jimmy Donaldson had already sued “Virtual Dining Concepts” a week ago because customers rated his burgers as “disgusting” or “inedible”. Images of alleged Beast burgers that don’t look very appetizing appear on Twitter/X.

With the lawsuit, Donaldson now wanted to obtain a contract termination. Virtual Dining Concepts, on the other hand, claims Donaldson wants to negotiate a whole new deal “to serve his own monetary interests.” There is also talk of bullying.

A new statement from the company said: “This case concerns a social media celebrity who believes that fame means his word doesn’t count, facts don’t matter, and that he can live up to his contractual obligations without… consequences can break. He is wrong.”

As a result, Donaldson is now being accused of failing to meet obligations such as advertising and promotions and exposing his own brand to reputational damage. The evidence should also include tweets from “MrBeast”, which the YouTuber has since deleted.

Sounds like a not well seasoned business relationship at all…
