The Cluj Gendarmerie announces that, after the emergence of controversies related to the concert held by the trapper Gabriel Gavriş, known as the Gheboasa scene, he self-reported and fined him for uttering insults, offensive or vulgar expressions, likely to disturb public order and tranquility or provokes citizens’ indignation or harms their dignity and honor. Also, following the performance at the Untold festival, the National Council for Combating Discrimination was notified.

“On August 6, as a result of the information appearing in the public space regarding the concert held by the trapper Gheboasă, during which he had vulgar and racist lyrics, the Cluj Napoca Mobile Gendarme Group reported itself and made the decision to analyze the optical support he had at his disposal. Following the analysis of the information and the verification of the reported aspects, on August 8 of this year, a contraventional sanction was applied in this case, according to the provisions of art. 2, para. 1) from Law 61/1991, consisting of a fine in the amount of 1,000 lei, for “uttering insults, offensive or vulgar expressions, likely to disturb public order and peace or to cause indignation of citizens or to harm their dignity and honor”” , the Cluj Gendarmerie announces on Tuesday.
The institution specifies that, following the show, the National Council for Combating Discrimination was notified “to analyze the artistic act, the words and expressions used, from the perspective of committing some antisocial acts of discrimination”.
The song that caused controversy in the public space is called “Gypsy”, and the lyrics are vulgar and offensive to women. The song was popularly requested, with the audience singing the lyrics along with the performer. (news.ro)
