Hollywood actress Sandra Bullock is in mourning after the death of her partner Bryan Randall, 57 years old, who suffered from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a disease that had been kept secret until now.
The news was confirmed by the family itself to People magazine: “It is with great sadness that we share that on August 5, Bryan Randall passed away peacefully after a three-year battle against the Commonwealth.”
“Bryan chose early on to keep his fight against the disease private and those of us caring for him did everything we could to comply with his request,” they said.
: “We are immensely grateful to the doctors who tirelessly fought alongside us against this disease and to the amazing nurses who became our roommates, often sacrificing their own families to be with ours,” they added in the statement.
“At this moment we ask for privacy to cry and face the impossibility of saying goodbye to Bryan,” they conclude.
They also asked that flowers not be sent and instead donations be made to the ALS Association and the Massachusetts Hospital, where Randall received medical treatment.
