After the World Health Organization included it on the list of global epidemics, despite the mystery surrounding how it appeared and spread, some scientists around the world mobilized to come up with a vaccine for this disease, which was called “X”.
British scientists have begun developing vaccines against the upcoming pandemic caused by the mysterious “Disease X”, as it has been described.

Nearly 200 scientists are working at Porton Down’s high-security laboratories in Wiltshire. This site is operated by the UK Health Security Agency.
Professor Dame Jenny Harries, head of the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA), told Sky News: “What we are trying to do is make sure the country is prepared in the event of a new disease X outbreak.”
And she added, “We hope that we can prevent the epidemic. But if we cannot, we must act, and that is why we have already started developing vaccines and treatments to eradicate it.”
In addition, she explained that climate change and population shifts increased the possibility of another pandemic after Corona. “What we’re seeing is the risks are rising globally,” she said.
It is noteworthy that some scientists had previously indicated that disease X could develop from a mutation in influenza viruses, such as the mutation that led to the emergence of the deadly Spanish measles, which killed about 25 million people at the beginning of the twentieth century.
They also pointed out that it could arise from a mutation of the virus that causes avian influenza. Although this type of virus is transmitted only between animals, a mutation in the genetic structure of the virus may make it transmissible to humans.
