Through social networks and with an emotional video, the Mexican team offered their condolences to Sebastián, who lost his life after suffering from cancer by reliving the images from when he was focused with the team.
A few months ago, the club learned the story of this little boy, who was invited to live the experience of being a footballer, for which he was present throughout the day of the game with the team.
Henry Martín was the one who explained the reasons at that time, in words for TUDN after beating Guadalajara in the regular Clausura 2023 tournament match.
“The boy tells me that he wants to be a professional player and what we did was give him that, one day of being a professional player. He ate with us, he was in concentration, when I go out on the field and I see him here I grab him and put him in the dressing room before the game and we give him that,” Henry Martín told TUDN.
“The team supports him very well, I am very proud of humans and the people we are because they are very difficult situations and sometimes you don’t have to live them to understand them and many of my teammates understand it that way and in the end it goes without saying, I think the boy leaves very happy, he leaves proud of the team he is going to and I believe that this is America”.
On that occasion, the Mexican striker recalled that he experienced a similar situation in his family as he commented that he had lost a nephew who was a victim of the disease.
