Inter Milan Officially Signs Yann Sommer as New Goalkeeper

Jakarta

Inter Milan has formalized Yann Sommer as the new goalkeeper. The Swiss goalkeeper is contracted until 2026.

“The goalkeeper from Switzerland has joined permanently from FC Bayern Munich,” wrote Inter’s official statement, Tuesday (8/8/2023) early morning WIB.

Sommer’s presence also solves the Inter goalkeeper conundrum after the departures of Andre Onana and Samir Handanovic. The Nerazzurri brought in the 34-year-old goalkeeper by paying the 6 million euro release clause.

Inter Milan called Sommer a versatile person in many ways. Sommer is described as having a passion for music, cooking, architecture and photography.

“Yann is very comfortable with the ball at his feet, has good reflexes and is also gifted with intuition. Last season, he made the record for the most saves in a Bundesliga game: 19 against Bayern Munich.

Inter don’t want to stop looking for another goalkeeper. So far there is an opportunity to get Emil Audero from Sampdoria on loan.
