“If indeed the reason is to request an explanation for the letter of suspension of detention, then it would be better if the person came in person and asked for an explanation politely. By bringing troops, of course his perception will be negative regardless of his intention to carry out an escort,” Eva told reporters, Monday (7/8/2023).;
Eva asked the TNI Commander, Admiral Yudo Margono, to pay attention to the information about this person. If an ethical violation is found, it is assessed that it must be followed up.
“I asked the TNI Commander, the regional commander to examine or ask for information from the person, what was the intention and purpose of visiting the police station, because we want the POLRI-TNI to be strong. If indeed there is a violation of ethics or discipline, it will be immediately enforced,” said Eva.
He reminded the Medan Polrestabes to carry out the legal process properly. He asked the Medan Polrestabes to continue working with precision without being affected after the visit of TNI members.
“Finally, I ask the Medan Police to continue their duties of protecting the community, carrying out legal enforcement in a humane way, so that the public can judge that the Police have really strengthened one of the precision values, namely fair transparency,” he said.
Command of the Commander of the Armed Forces
A number of soldiers led by Major Dedi Hasibuan came to the Medan Polrestabes regarding the suspension of the detention of a suspect in the land case with the initials ARH. TNI Commander Admiral Yudo Margono ordered the soldiers to be examined.
Admiral Yudo said he had ordered the Commander of the Military Police Center (Danpuspom) of the Indonesian Armed Forces, Admiral Agung Handoko, to intervene to examine the soldiers who visited the Medan Polrestabes.
“Yes, yesterday I ordered the Danpom TNI to be examined immediately,” said Yudo at the Paspampres Command Headquarters, Jalan Tanah Abang II Number 6, Central Jakarta, Monday (7/8).
The examination will deepen the case until a number of soldiers in camouflage uniforms come to the Medan Police Headquarters. However, Yudo said the soldiers’ actions were unethical.
“I have ordered it, we will examine those who did it, we will check with the police first, what is the problem and maybe yesterday there was initial evidence that they did that,” he said.
“Yes, I think it is unethical for TNI soldiers to be like that,” added Yudo.
