Prince William, Kate Middleton and their children George, Charlotte and Louis have taken a break from royal commitments for the summer holidays. While the destinations for their August are already known, not everyone knows that when they happen to leave or land at Heathrow airport they will have exceptional benefits at their disposal. In the past, in fact, the much talked about family has been spotted outside the lavish suite Windsor di Heathrow, their “secret living room” at the airport. No luxury item is left out, as visitors receive VIP treatment in the suite, complete with nearly 100 people to look after everyone from heads of state to A-list celebrities, according to OK! magazine.
All the secrets from William and Kate’s Heathrow suite
The Prince and Princess of Wales are enjoying their summer holidays and preparing to receive the very best. For the occasion, they will have to shell out £3,300 to use the suite, but for this price they will be able to enjoy as many as 96 people who will take care of them and a Michelin-starred menu. First of all they can rely on an exceptional chauffeur service. It is unknown if Kate and William will use the car serviceconsidering their status and their large security team, but the VIP experience already starts from the front door. A top-of-the-line chauffeured BMW could pick them up wherever they need to be or at their hotel and drive them to a private airport entrance to ensure safety, privacy and discretion (it’s so secret we don’t know where it is).
Upon arrival, ready to welcome them, they will find a porter in a top hat and tails, who will send their luggage to the control to then be secured on the plane. Then they will be escorted to a private lounge at their service. William and Kate will feel right at home in a luxury lounge, with elegant surroundings and artwork curated by the Tanya Baxter Contemporary art gallery. In addition, there is a soft sofa, armchairs and a formal dining table, a large TV and of course a private bathroom.
From the butler to the starred menu
For such an expense they won’t have to lift a finger: a team of 96 people will be at their disposal, along with your private butler. They will take care of everything, even serving food and drinks. Their wishes will be orders!
Essential in such a location that the food is also exceptional. Forget the usual bar breakfast: Heathrow VIP has a seasonal menu designed by British Michelin-starred chef Jason Atherton. You can enjoy a light snack or a three-course dinner, accompanied by a glass of champagne. Priya Malhotra, Head of Heathrow VIPHe told Business Insider: “You can order as much off the menu as you like. You can also order the entire menu and empty my cellar: go ahead, but I could get grumpy”.
And should the Princess fancy a bit of shopping, personal shoppers will be on hand to help her buy anything in the terminals. Immigration and customs take place in the lounge and most importantly, you have a personal security lane which, according to Malhotra, “takes about 30 seconds” to pass through. The complete service certainly has an exclusive price: remember that all of this costs £3,300 (about 3,850 euros with VAT) one way.
