Galkin’s Summer Concerts in Latvia: Laughter, Parodies, and Standing Ovations

Galkin has published a video from the Dzintari concert hall on the “Instagram” website, where people’s laughter and even a standing ovation can be heard.

“How I like it when the audience laughs! Thank you, my dears, for yesterday’s reception! That was the atmosphere in my beloved Dzintari concert hall. I watch the video and smile with you,” said Galkin.

It has already been reported that Galkin’s additional concert will take place on August 7 in the Dzintari concert hall.

In his summer concerts, the popular comedian presents Latvian audiences with a new concert program. “Galkin’s talent makes his concerts a kaleidoscope of genres, where there are parodies, songs, and performances from television shows,” the concert organizers say, noting that last year Galkin’s summer concerts in Latvia were completely sold out. They express their joy that they managed to organize two concerts in Jurmala, as well as to include another city in the schedule – Daugavpils.

Parodist and TV presenter Galkin, who has condemned Russia’s war in Ukraine, was included in 2022 in the register of Russian natural persons who “perform the functions of a foreign agent”.

Galkin is outside Russia. After Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, he was in Israel, where he sharply criticized the war in his concerts. The artist has also performed in the USA and Poland.

The Ministry of Justice of Russia, adding to the register of natural persons – “foreign agents”, claimed that Galkin was engaged in political activity, receiving funding or other forms of assistance from Ukraine.
