A man was left in the hands of the authorities, who, carrying a traumatic weapon, intimidated a shopkeeper and stole cash and a loudspeaker, in southern Neiva.
The capture of the criminal occurred after information from the community to units of the Neiva Metropolitan Police, when they were carrying out patrol work in the sector of Carrera 21 with Calle 2, in the Fan neighborhood.
Spokesmen for the security agency stated that the 34-year-old man was caught by the community stealing the sum of 170,000 pesos in cash and a loudspeaker.
When the uniformed officers searched the subject, they found in his possession a traumatic weapon “with which he had allegedly used to commit the crime, in the same way it caused material damage,” said the police spokesman.
The man who was made available to the URI Prosecutor’s Office will be presented before a guarantee control judge for the crime of theft and illegal possession of firearms.
