Chinese electric car company Nio has announced that it will announce its first phone in the third quarter of 2023. The device that will be released will be called the Nio Phone. The level of the device promises to create a new competition in the smartphone market.
Nio CEO William Li announced that the plan to develop the smartphone first began in 2022. He stated that it will offer deep integration and advanced connectivity features with electric car models. Nio Phone recently received regulatory approval in China.
The Nio Phone will run Android, have 5G connectivity and dual SIM card slots. The technical specifications and design of the phone are not yet known. However, the Chinese manufacturer has previously released concept studies that show that the phone can be used in the ES8 SUV.
