Bill Cosby has been charged with sexual assault again. Various media report that singer Morganne Picard has started a lawsuit against the 86-year-old actor. Cosby allegedly drugged and raped her several times between 1987 and 1990.
Picard met Cosby in 1987 on the set of The Cosby Show. She was invited there by Cosby. In the indictment, Picard describes, among other things, that she once lost consciousness after drinking a drink that Cosby had poured for her. She says she was raped because she later woke up naked in a hotel room with pain in her vagina.
Picard is also suing a number of companies, including NBCUniversal Media and Kaufman Astoria Studios. She believes that the companies have not done enough to stop Cosby. Picard demands, among other things, compensation from the actor.
Multiple lawsuits, dozens of accusations
Cosby has been accused of sexual misconduct by dozens of women throughout his career. He was already sentenced to a prison term of three to ten years in 2018 for drugging and abusing Andrea Constand. However, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court quashed his conviction because the trial was alleged to have been unfair. As of June 2021, Cosby is free again. He has always denied all allegations.
Cosby was also later sued. In 2022, for example, five women accused Cosby of raping them or forcing them into other sexual acts. Among them was also the actress the Lily Bernard. In June this year, he was charged twice more: in the US state of Nevada, nine women, including former model Janice Dickinson, filed a case against him, and at the beginning of June former playmate Victoria Valentino also filed a case against Cosby for sexual abuse .
The comedian was found guilty in June 2022 by a jury in California of sexually assaulting the then 16-year-old Huth. He allegedly forced her into sexual acts. The jury awarded Huth $500,000 in damages. Cosby has denied the allegations and said he never met her.
