[신화망 베이징 8월6일]Shanghai Volkswagen, a joint venture between Volkswagen of Germany and Shanghai Motors of China, has recalled more than 83,000 vehicles.
According to China’s State Administration for Market Regulation, Shanghai Volkswagen’s recall began on the 4th and affected 57,659 Polo Plus models produced between October 12, 2020 and March 17, 2022, as well as 2020 25,838 T-Cross vehicles produced between October 12 and March 25, 2022 are eligible.
The recall is in response to concerns that sediment could build up between the vehicle’s impeller and the housing of the fuel pump, preventing the impeller from working smoothly and causing the fuel pump to malfunction. In severe cases, it is pointed out that the ignition of the vehicle may be turned off.
Meanwhile, Shanghai Volkswagen said it would replace the improved fuel pump free of charge in vehicles within the recall range to eliminate the risk involved.
