Local Authors and Singer Shine at Floc de Gascogne Festival

Thursday, at the Floc de Gascogne festival, place Armagnac, thanks to the presence of the Corbel bookstore, the public met two local authors, one of whom is also a singer.

For these two authors, it was an opportunity to make themselves better known and of course to sign their books.

Gilles-Marie Baur, author of numerous books, notably presented his latest book Vacarmes et Carabistouilles sanglantes. Gilles-Marie Baur’s latest “Vacarmes” takes the reader to the department of Gers, where the noise suddenly imposes itself with the arrival of 10,000 young people. The latter land in the field of a chicken farmer and organize a wild rave party there. This sudden and sonorous encounter will change the life of this solitary peasant and, of course, shake up the order of things, cause a mutation in his immediate universe, the noise awakening mysterious forces in nature, bringing his ancestors and some famous characters…The novel addresses an ultra-contemporary and universal theme, between tradition and modernity, ecology and nuisance, love and humor, desire and delirium, culture and agriculture, art and canard… A human adventure with its dark and light, cold reality and humour, sex and love.

The second author was Claude Rezzo. He is also a singer and he presented his first book entitled “Until my last breath”. In this book the author recounts his life, his journey with a lot of sincerity and emotion. The author approaches his harsh childhood in a wagon fitted out on a piece of land in Montargis. Thanks to his Italian grandmother, he discovered Bel Canto and the joy of singing. Became tenor of the lyrical group of Montargis, he sang at the cabaret “La Belle Epoque” and he ensured the first parts of Mouloudji, Fred Mella, Cora Vaucaire… At the Floc festival, in addition to the book, Claude Rezzo presented two CDs where he sings French songs but also Opérettas.

As for the bookseller François Corbelit presented a very fine collection of books which approached the wealth of the Gers, in particular “Les Cadets de Gascogne”, “Larressingle”, “Eauze”, “Once upon a time in the Gers”…..
