Two Dutch people are missing in Georgia, where twelve people have been killed since Friday by a landslide in the mountain resort of Shovi. A spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirms the disappearance.

Insiders report that these are minors who were hiking in the mountains with their father, although the spokesperson cannot confirm this.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs provides consular assistance to the relatives of those involved and is in close contact with the local authorities.

The rescue operation in Georgia is still in full swing. On Saturday, the deputy minister of the interior flew to the disaster area.

Drones are being used to search the area. Drone footage of the landslide shows the valley partially covered in mud, logs and other debris.

Five Dutch people missing in Slovenia

The confirmation comes hours after the report that five Dutch people are missing in Slovenia. They went missing after flooding in the country. Details about the missing are not shared by the ministry.

On Friday it was announced that two people from Gouda died in the country. According to the Slovenian police, they made a trip near a mountain in the north of the country, the Veliki Draski. It is not known how they died.
