The “out of tune” staff orchestra announces that Mitsotakis will have meetings with ministers to “be informed about the progress of government actions”
“Disappointed” is the government’s staff orchestra, just forty days after the electoral victory of the ND. The chain of blue failures, arrhythmias and oligurias spreads on multiple fronts, causing reactions that have alarmed Maximos. In this context, Kyriakos Mitsotakis seeks a communicative restart, with the aim of taming social discomfort.
The prime minister’s associates claim to receive citizens’ messages from the hot fields. The endless hours outside the Land Registry, the encroachments of the free beaches, the sparse itineraries in urban transport, the galloping prices of fuel and food, as well as the unaffordable – for the average family – student rents, constitute the august pressure framework for the N.D. The bell of dissatisfaction was reportedly heard by the Prime Minister himself, setting the goal of “permanent improvement of the quality of life of the citizens”, during his greeting, at the event for the nomination of the Poor in the Peloponnese Region.
The government staff let it slip that the summer raston will not stop the efforts to improve the everyday life of the citizens. Kyriakos Mitsotakis will have continuous meetings with his ministers in order to “be informed about the progress of government actions and policies”.
It runs out of anti-SYRIZA propaganda
The issue for the N.D. is that, now, it does not have the political – communication margins to pass the blame for the individual malfunctions on… SYRIZA-P.S. After all, Kyriakos Mitsotakis has been at the helm of the country since 2019 and was re-elected with a flag to continue his work. Government spokesman Pavlos Marinakis says, despite all this, that the problems will not be solved overnight. “However, it is important, when you take stock, in each individual issue, that you have taken important steps”, as he said.
Land registry: The blow to the “digital revolution”
The images of the long hours of suffering of the citizens outside the Athens Land Registry constitute a key blow to the narrative of the “digital revolution”. Against this background, the Deputy Minister of Digital Governance, Konstantinos Kyranakis, announced that from August 28, a digital platform will be operational with which a priority number will be given electronically in order to avoid the inconvenience of long waiting lines. From the government, however, no substantial response is given to the fact that all 45 employees who worked in the Land Office left, so that it operates with contract staff.
No “excellent” journalist goes to waste
The staff state is generous – also in this neo-democratic term – for the journalists who were attached to the Mitsotakis system. According to the Government Gazette (sheet no. 779, August 2, 2023), Jason Pipinis was appointed to the position of second-in-command partner in the Office of Strategic Planning of the Scientific Support Sector of the Prime Minister of the General Secretariat of the Prime Minister of the Presidency of the Government, with the salary of the 15th salary step of the PE category. In addition, Aristotelia Peloni was appointed to the position of head of the Office of Strategic Planning of the Scientific Support Sector of the Prime Minister of the General Secretariat of the Prime Minister of the Presidency of the Government, with the emoluments of the 1st grade Special Positions category.
Finally, by the decision of the Minister of Culture Linas Mendonis, Anna Panagiotarea is assigned the duties of a special unpaid consultant on communication issues in the special office of the Minister of Culture Stylianis Mendonis. “The hired person serves voluntarily and does not receive a salary, compensation or other financial remuneration apart from her traveling expenses. The service of the above automatically ends with the termination of the term of the Minister of Culture in any way”, notes the Government Gazette.
