Although it is unclear how many Dutch people are struggling with lung covid, there are certainly thousands who can no longer work due to their complaints. Radio makers Rianne van der Linden and Anne-Sophie van den Toren meet Rutger, who has to lie in bed for such a large part of the day that he has considered euthanasia. And in the meantime, the approach to new disease is falling short, according to the advice of the Social Impact Team (MIT), which advises the government on this.
No wonder patients turn to alternative treatments. But how risky is this quest for a cure? Are vulnerable patients being abused?
