Stewart: “We are in talks with Debast”

Earnest Stewart, technical director of PSV, gives an update on the incoming transfers at PSV.

Davinson Sánchez is no longer in the picture at PSV. The people of Eindhoven were in talks with the Colombian defender of Tottenham Hotspur, but during the talks it turned out that his arrival is not feasible.

Technical director Earnest Stewart confirmed this prior to the battle for the Johan Cruijff Scale. “We’ve been in talks, but we can’t meet that.”

Stewart therefore has another candidate in mind for the position of right central defender. It concerns 19-year-old Zeno Debast from RSC Anderlecht. “We’re in talks with that, yes,” Stewart confirms. “Eventually something has to come out, but it’s not that far yet.”

PSV also in talks with Vranckx

PSV wants to strengthen itself in every line this month. Aster Vranckx, 20-year-old midfielder from VfL Wolfsburg, is on PSV’s radar, Stewart admits. “It’s someone we would listen to.” His possible arrival depends on Ibrahim Sangaré’s future plans. The Ivorian is still a PSV player, but there is interest in him. “It is not yet concrete, because it would be concrete that a club puts an amount on the table, but that is not yet there.”
