CMF by Nothing: Launching Affordable Devices with Minimalistic Design

Nothing has announced the launch of the CMF by Nothing sub-brand. Under it, more affordable devices will be released, differing from the products of the main Nothing brand in a simpler and more minimalistic design.

The creation of a new brand in a video message to fans announced the founder and head of Nothing Carl Pei (Carl Pei). He explained that CMF by Nothing will “produce devices with interesting designs at a more affordable price for a wider group of buyers.” The abbreviation CMF in the brand name stands for “Color, Material, and Finish”, that is, “color, material and finish.” If the core Nothing brand focuses on delivering devices that combine the latest technology, innovative design solutions and premium quality, then the key features of the devices that will be released under CMF by Nothing are “clean design, affordability and well-deserved quality.”

The first products under the CMF by Nothing brand will be a pair of wireless headphones and a smart watch. Both devices will be presented this year. While the brand will operate under the Nothing umbrella, it will have its own independent engineering team. The head of Nothing also noted in his address that the company recently raised $96 million in investments. They will be used to promote the new brand, as well as to develop the first products under its leadership.
