Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said tonight that Kiev’s troops had faced brutal fighting across the front, but were still prevailing.
“The occupiers are trying to stop our boys with all their might. The attacks are very brutal,” Zelensky was quoted as saying by AFP.
The battle is “tough everywhere, but whatever the enemy does, it’s the Ukrainian forces that dominate. And I thank each and every one of them on the front lines for that!” he said in his daily video address on Telegarm.
Zelensky also said that Ukrainian troops are fighting in the eastern regions of hotspots such as Kupyansk, Liman, Bakhmut, Mariinka and Avdiivka, as well as on the southern front line.
Kiev has repeatedly warned that the current counteroffensive could be long and difficult and called on allies to send more weapons.
