Microsoft today without notice released a free version strategy Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition. The improved version of the third part, which was released in 2020, was until now only available in the form of a full game for 20 euros. This variant was newly supplemented by a free-to-play version, which basically offers only three civilizations.
However, the Trefoil of Civilizations will rotate regularly, so players will try out all 16 nations in turn. You can currently play as France, Russia, and the Iroquois Nation. It is also available in a free version the first part of the campaign and the historical battles mode. There is also support for cooperation. The free-to-play variant of Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition is available from today on Steam.
Update 14.43676 is now live in #AgeIIIDE!
And if you’ve never tried it before, today’s the perfect day to join the fray on Steam! Check out our new blog to learn about a rotating roster of 16 civs, unlockable hero cosmetics, and more.
