The stars of the operetta Katerina Tuparova and Alexander Mutafchiyski – 20 years together on stage

After a serious illness, Katerina Tuparova – one of the great stars of the National Music Theater – died at the age of 58, the troupe announced.

The National Music Theater has lost a bright musical and artistic talent, say her operetta colleagues.

Katerina Tuparova was born in Rakitovo. He graduated from the National School of Music and Dance Art “Dobrin Petkov” – Plovdiv, and then the National Academy of Music “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov”, in the class of classical singing with Prof. Elena Kiselova and acting with Prof. Pavel Gerdzhikov.

On the stage of the National Music Theater, she made her debut in the role of Louisa, in the musical “Imaginations” by the director Prof. Grisha Ostrovski, while still a third-year student.

She has more than 70 roles in her repertoire, including many central soubrette roles – Stasi from “The Queen of the Chardasha”, Yanka from “Bulgarians of Old Time”, Adela from “The Bat”. Her creative transformations in the cult musicals – “Cats”, “Joseph and his fantastic colorful dress” and “The Phantom of the Opera” by E.L. Weber and many others remain unforgettable, say the theater.

Tribute to her memory!
