Larian Studios Launches Baldur’s Gate III: Urgent Save File Deletion Required for Beta Players

Today is finally time for Larian Studios to launch Baldur’s Gate III, and to that end, the studio is now asking fans (who have played the beta version) to discard all save files with immediate effect. This is to avoid the risk of problems when the finished game is installed and new save files are created. Here at Gamereactor we are playing the final version to the fullest and hope to have a review ready by the middle of next week.

Larian via X:
“PSA: Full post tomorrow, but for Baldur’s Gate 3 players with existing Early Access save files, we ask that they launch the game before August 3rd and delete all save files to avoid accidental conflicts at launch. Also, remove any mods and make sure so that they are not automatically re-downloaded. We recommend that players with Early Access installed uninstall the game after deleting their save files. This will reduce the risk of file conflicts when the final game is downloaded and should mean more gameplay and no more debugging! We’ll have a full guide to the launch tomorrow.”
