Latvian singer Laima Vaikule on August 2 on Instagram posted a video filmed behind the scenes of the Laima Rendezvous Jūrmala 2023 festival she founded in Jurmala with the participation of Russian artists Alla Pugacheva, her husband Maxim Galkin and singer Andrey Makarevich.
In the video, Pugacheva and Vaikule are captured during a smoke break with cigarettes in their hands. Galkin, who was next to them, stood without a cigarette. Seeing Makarevich, Vaikule called him and invited him to come up: “Andryusha, come here. The ladies from the dunes decided to smoke.”
Approaching Vaikula, Makarevich exchanged a kiss on the cheek with her, then kissed Pugacheva, and then shook hands with Galkin.
Context:
The festival under the patronage of Vaikule has been held since 2015. This year it was held from July 28th to 30th. Part of the funds from the events within the framework of the festival will be directed to help Ukrainian children affected by the invasion of Ukraine by the aggressor country of the Russian Federation.
On the first day of the festival, Polyakova, Max Barskikh, Verka Serdyuchka, Anna Butkevich and Alekseev performed on stage. They sang in Ukrainian.
Verka Serdyuchka, portrayed by Andrey Danilko, performed her hit Dancing Lasha Tumbai, already traditionally paraphrasing the chorus from Lasha Tumbai to Russia Good Bye. The network showed the reaction of Makarevich and Galkin to the words of Russia Good Bye: Makarevich smiled with restraint, and Galkin laughed.
Ukrainian singer Vera Brezhneva performed at the closing of the festival. On the day of her performance, the singer first addressed the audience in Ukrainian: “I really want to say a good word for the guests …” Having hardly pronounced the Ukrainian word “hospitality”, the artist switched to Russian, thanking the Latvians for supporting her personally and all Ukrainians.
After that, Brezhneva performed a song in Russian from her repertoire “Good Morning”, as well as a track in Ukrainian “Those are my people”.
