Setback for Kerala Government in College Principal Appointment Case: Administrative Tribunal Orders Appointment from Final List

Thiruvananthapuram: The state government suffered a setback in the college principal appointment case. The Kerala Administrative Tribunal ordered that the principals should be appointed from the 43-member final list. The order also said that the appointment should be made within two weeks. The tribunal recommended fresh recruitment of those who have qualified so far.

The tribunal directed that the appointment of 43 persons as principals in arts and science colleges in the state should be made from the list approved by the PSC. When this list was submitted by the Director of College Education, the Higher Education Minister’s directive was to make it a draft list. With this, the Tribunal again gave instructions.

Minister R. said that he would respond after learning more details about the ruling of the administrative tribunal. Point informed. Whatever the verdict, the government can implement it. She also clarified that that is the policy of the government.
