German Bild journalist Julian Röpke on his Twitter page accused Ukraine of using the provided military equipment for other purposes, bringing it “too close” to the front line.
This is how he reacted to the news that the Russian military had captured the Swedish CV90 infantry fighting vehicle for the first time.
“CV90 was lost not during the counteroffensive for which it was supposed to be used, but after it was separated from the rest of the brigade and used (probably together with another machine of the type) for isolated defense in the Chervopopovka area!” wrote the journalist .
According to Röpke, the infantry fighting vehicle came “too close” to the front line, which caused the strike by a Russian RPG, and was then withdrawn into Russian-controlled territory.
“This is exactly what the German army accuses Ukraine of: 1. – abusing the provided equipment, not as necessary for a successful operation, and 2. – dividing large brigades into isolated vulnerable groups,” the journalist said.
Twitter users mocked Roepke’s comment.
“Are they planning to claim the machine back from Russia?” mocks the Pan-African
“So Germany criticizes how Ukraine uses weapons intended only for parades?” noted “Drozdovets”.
“Instead of Kiev, the Russians got the Swedish machine. A real achievement. I have no words,” wrote Abuleilaz.
Earlier, servicemen of the 20th Army of the Western Military District first captured a Swedish infantry fighting vehicle TsV90 during a battle in the Krasnolimansk direction.
