The many riots and the massive harassment of a referee have been against Van Leeuwen for some time. Now it should be ready, let them sign in The Telegraph. “We said to the players: heads against each other, pushing and pulling, intimidating the referee in any way, brutal treatment, we don’t want to see anymore,” Van Leeuwen explains. “And we have indicated the same to coaches.”

The director of professional football of the KNVB emphasizes that the guidelines are not new. In principle, only the captain may report to the referee. “We said to the referees: use the rules as they exist,” said Van Leeuwen. “What we will of course do is evaluate the first period almost weekly with the referees how things are going. We will be on top of it.”
