The S21 Ultra was the first in the Galaxy S series to use an LTPO display, a technology that fine-tunes the refresh rate and helps conserve battery life.

The S21 and S21+ stuck with the old displays that only supported a few refresh rates. This is true for the S22/S22+ and even this year’s S23/23+.

Things are finally changing – Ice Universe is now reporting that both the Samsung Galaxy S24 and S24+ are moving to LTPO. This may affect standby power consumption when using the Always On Display feature. Additionally, The Cat claims that the new displays will have narrower bezels.
