Mustafa Abdo, a Palestinian elderly person, takes advantage of the high temperatures and works to repair electric fans in Gaza for the residents, especially with the increased demand for them to cool the air relatively.
Scorching summer flames and high temperatures, the solution is to search for a means of cooling, even if it is simple, and here we find an old man who defies the circumstances and stands among the dilapidated fans, to repair them for the people of the Gaza Strip who suffer from the severe heat waves.
Despite the hardships of life and the hardships of time, this old man still lights the atmosphere with his wisdom and steadfastness, and he sees a glimmer of hope from these severe circumstances in order to provide his livelihood in this hot and arduous weather. We see him silent for a few moments, as if he is entering into a secret dialogue with the broken fan, looking at it with eyes that carry memories of a long life.
Mustafa Abdo, an electric fan repairman, says: “I have been working in this profession for 40 years, and I have never witnessed such a high temperature.”
In the hot weather, full of longing for comfort and tranquility, Abda sees in repairing fans an opportunity to reap an effort that will help him face future challenges.
Mustafa Abda added, “In the past, we used to repair a few fans, but with this heat wave that we are experiencing today, the demand for fans has increased, and the number of those who want to repair their fans has increased to face the unprecedented heat wave.”
According to climate experts, temperatures exceeded thirty-eight degrees Celsius in Gaza, and frequent power outages are prompting more people to adjust their fans to run on batteries.
