Tesla Expands Supercharger V4 Charging Network in Europe

The electric car manufacturer Tesla is constantly adding new charging points to its Supercharger charging network, but in Europe Tesla is increasingly using the new Supercharger V4 chargers. Three new stations with these chargers opened in Europe in July, which means that there are at least four charging points with these chargers in our part of the world.

The first Supercharger charging point with the new Supercharger V4 machines opened in the Netherlands this spring. Two more charging points have been opened in France, but the fourth place where Supercharger V4 chargers have already been installed is the Austrian city of Graz. Local web users in Austria have noticed that the machines are equipped with a contactless bank card reader, or at least a place to build one. It is not yet known when this feature will be available. The new chargers are also equipped with displays.

The reason for such changes in the design of Tesla chargers is simple – European Union regulations require that within the next few years, customers must be able to pay for charging with a contactless payment card. The aim is to make charging anywhere in Europe on major roads as easy as filling up with fuel. Currently, charging often requires a smartphone app or a subscription to the specific services, which makes traveling around Europe by car quite difficult. Also, information about the charging price must be easy to read and understand, so displays are installed. Other charging network operators in Europe are also preparing for these changes.
