The comedian actually wanted to go from Munich to Bremen on Saturday. But the train had other plans: its ICE got lost and landed somewhere else.
Bremen – Wigald Boning actually wanted to visit his mother in Oldenburg before going to Spiekeroog to perform with colleague Bernhard Hoecker. But on Saturday, July 29, things didn’t quite go according to plan. “The ICE from M to HB got lost, no joke,” said the TV presenter on Twitter.
The express train was to start at 11:19 a.m. in Munich and then be in Bremen as a direct connection almost seven hours later. However, the journey did not go so smoothly.
The comedian takes it with humor: On the train he struck up a conversation with a former flower seed wholesaler who was sitting across from him. “Now, after 5 hours, knows everything about Rudbeckia variety protection, Aldi margins, aster exports to the USA,” writes Boning and adds a heart emoji: “I love delays!”

When asked if he had arrived safely, he answered briefly: “Arrived safely, yes.” At the same time, when asked, he presented his newly acquired knowledge as a flower specialist. The “Indian Summer” variety is “a chance find that was first cultivated in a conspiracy for years in a French backyard so that the competition didn’t notice anything.”

By the way: the native of Wildeshausen should even be in Bremen on time – despite the detour. A railway spokeswoman explains: “Mr. Boning sat in the ICE 1216 from Schwarzach-St. Veit to Bremen.” In Munich, the route for the train was set in such a way that it should travel to Augsburg via Pasing.
Railway spokeswoman: ICE was able to make up for the delay
But that was wrong: “The ICE should have received the route from Munich main station with a branch towards Ingolstadt,” said the spokeswoman. “So he drove back and then took the ‘right’ turn and continued his journey north.” This initially caused a delay of around 30 minutes, which the ICE was able to make up for on its onward journey to Bremen.
So Wigald Boning should have come to his mother in Oldenburg in time and then to Spiekeroog for his performance.
