Deputy Minister of SOEs Kartika Wirjoatmodjo revealed, the project Jakarta-Bandung Fast Train almost crash. The man who is familiarly called Tiko said that completing the high-speed train project was his task when he was appointed Deputy Minister of BUMN.
“I am assigned when I was called to be a wamen, one of the duties of the president, I had to complete this item, which at that time was almost stalled in 2019,” he said at the InJourney Talks event, Tuesday (1/8/2023).
Under these conditions, he also made a mapping so that the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train project could get back on track. He conducted negotiations with the Chinese side, including solving the challenge of tunnel construction that collapsed.
“Yes, we make a big PMO with various components, someone takes care of it civil worksthe ingredients, the stations, the integration of technology, the financial negotiations with China, changing the Perpres. Right now the negotiations with the CDB have not been completed, they are still being finalized cost overrun financing it will be over soon,” he said.
With various measures carried out, he said, Jakarta-Bandung Fast Train will be operational soon. He said President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) had confirmed that he would board this train on September 1 and that it would likely be inaugurated together with the Chinese PM on September 6.
“And we confirm September 1 Mr. President wants to step up, the 6th will probably beinaugurate with the Chinese PM,” said Tiko.
“In 3 and a half years from the current standstill, it will operate with various kinds of challenges,” he continued.
