The city received 24 complaints in no time. Complaints that apparently also reached the X-top, because today it appears that the logo – just as quickly as it came – has disappeared again.
“This morning, building inspectors oversaw the removal of the structure,” Reuters news agency quoted an email from the city’s Building Inspection Department as saying. “The owner of the property will receive compensation for the unauthorized installation of the illuminated structure.”
X owner Elon Musk and CEO Linda Yaccarino have not yet responded. So for now it remains to be seen whether the logo – just like the paying blue check marks at the time – will soon make a comeback or not.
